Ben James "Uncle Buck" Clark

Ben James “Uncle Buck” Clark, 78, died on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Scotland Memorial Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service and Crematorium Chapel officiated by Pastor Brian Locklear.  Burial with masonic rites will follow at the Clark Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Born May 2, 1944 in Robeson County, he was the son of the late Martin and Arielma Locklear Clark.  Ben worked at JP Stevens for many years and was a member of the Lebanon Masonic Lodge #391. Ben loved everybody and he never met a stranger.  He was a big cut-up and enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his children, Jessie Clark (Shelley) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Audrey Chavis (Chris) of Maxton, Pamela Thompson (Steve) of Columbia, TN, and Kevin Clark of the home; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; four brothers, Raymond Clark (Delois), Hubert Clark, Herbert Clark (Mary) and Ander Clark (Linda) all of Laurinburg; and niece Jabo of the home.  He is preceded in death by his son, Freddy Clark; and his brothers and sisters, Savannah Harris, Martin Clark, Jr., Benford Clark, Marglenda Bullard, Virginia Hobbie, Louise Moses and Emma Holt.
