Mrs. Beatrice Reaves "Bea" Willis, 89 died Monday, September 28, 2009.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. C. F. McDowell, III. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.

She is survived by her son, Jim Willis and wife, Frances of Laurinburg; her daughter, Anne Todd and husband, Charles of Laurinburg; six grandchildren, Suzanne Todd Burton and husband, Chris of Rome, GA, James Willis "Jay" Todd and wife, Julieann of Laurinburg, Emily Todd Smith and husband, Brent of Summerfield, Thomas Marshall Willis of Ocean Isle Beach, W. McBryde Willis and Hallie Covington Willis of Laurinburg; six great grandchildren, Julia Burton, Meredith Burton, Andrew Todd, Joe Todd, Grayson Smith, and Abby Smith; a step-great grandchild, Hailey Smith.

Born June 30, 1920 in Dillon, SC she was a daughter of the late Joseph Edward and Annie Gray Reaves and the widow of the late Thurman Willis. Known as a quiet unassuming lady, Bea placed her family, home, and church as her priorities, serving them whenever needed or necessary. She enjoyed bridge, life at Scotia Village, and her interactions with the Scotia residents.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Morris Morgan Room at Scotia Village.
