Mr. Baxter "Bill" Walters, 75, of 6980 Gibson Road, died Monday, December 27, 1999 at Scotland Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 3:00 PM in the McDougald Funeral Home in Laurel Hill. with Rev. Rodney Cohoon and Rev. David Shoemake officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery in Gibson, NC.

Born in Marlboro County on September 15, 1924, he was the son of the late Harris and Elizabeth Walters. He was a retired truck driver with DeWitt Trucking Company. He attended Springfield Church of God.

He is survived by his wife, Elise Walters of the home, three sons, Ronald Walters of Hamlet, NC, Donald Walters of Gibson, NC, Barney Walters of Wallace, SC.five brothers; Harold Walters of Fayetteville, NC, Paul Walters and Harris Walters of Wallace, SC, Bobby Walters of Orlando, FL, Jimmy Walters of Lancaster, SC., one sister; Mollie Miller of Hueytown, AL, nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7 to 9 PM at McDougald Funeral Home in Laurel Hill.
