Barbara Jean Hollis, 78, died June 28, 2017 at her home.
She was born December 4, 1938 to the late William Dennis and Victorean Utilee Surels Edge. Mrs. Hollis was a homemaker. She was a member of Yates Thagard Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her brother Beverly Edge.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Yates Thagard Baptist Church, Carthage, NC officiated by Rev. Steven A. Johnson. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery in Wagram. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
She is survived by her husband of 59 ½ years, Barney E. “Gene” Hollis of the home; two daughters, Mary Lynn Honeycutt of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Gwendolyn Hollis Pate of Whispering Pines; brothers, Doug Edge, Frank Edge and Donald Edge of Wagram, and Carlton Edge of Hamlet; sister, Emily Chiles of Fort Mill, SC; grandchildren, Nicholas Adam Noll, Adam Christopher Eccher, Danielle Collins and McKenzie Pate.
