Barbara Hales Haney, 98, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at home surrounded by her loving family.

A service of celebration will be held at First Baptist Church, Laurinburg, NC on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 1:00 PM, followed by visitation in the Fellowship Hall.

Born on August 24, 1927 in Bladen County, she was the daughter of Ammie Hales and Lennon Singletary Hales.

She is survived by her three daughters, Pat Lowrance and her husband Bob of Concord, Sara Williams and her husband Tommy of Pinehurst, and Carol Coughenour and her husband Mike of Laurinburg, as well as eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Chesley E. Haney, their son Mike Haney, as well as her two brothers.

Barbara was known for her devotion to her church and her family. It was her strong faith and immense generosity that truly defined her spirit. Her ability to love everyone unconditionally made each of her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren feel uniquely cherished as her favorite.

Those who knew and loved Barbara knew a lady of compassion, humility, great strength, and unwavering faith. Her memory will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
