Mr. Arthur Ray Hudson, 79, of Laurinburg died Friday, September 10, at Scotland Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Old Laurel Hill Presbyterian Church officiated by the Rev. Howard Whitehurst. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Edith Hogan Hudson; three stepsons, Jimmy Chavis and wife, Jo of Atlanta, GA, Harry Chavis and wife, Becky of Cheraw, SC, and Ronald Chavis and wife, Lois Ann of Laurinburg; six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie Hudson of Hamlet, NC and James Hudson of New York.
Born January 31, 1925 in Hamlet, NC, he was a son of the late Charlie and Mary Dixon Hudson. Mr. Hudson served two years in the Merchant Marines. He was retired from Abbott Lab and was a member of Old Laurel Hill Presbyterian Church.
