Dr. Arthur Howard Davis, 73, of 13081 Elm Avenue died Sunday, May 30, at Scotland Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Wil I. Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.
Born January 16, 1926 in Fayetteville, he was a son of the late Walter and Verne Hendrix Davis.
He was a community leader, past president of the Laurinburg Jaycees and the Laurinburg Lions Club. He made many eye care service mission trips to Kenya, Bosnia, Bolivia, and Honduras. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Dawson Davis of Laurinburg; one daughter, Toni D. Johnson of Marietta, GA; one son, Dr. Joe M. Davis of Carbondale, IL; one sister, Mrs. E. P. Tyndall of Fayetteville; two brothers, Herman J. Davis of Alta Vista, VA and Fairley C. Davis of Fayetteville.
The family will be receiving friends from 7 to 9 pm Tuesday at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
