Mr. Archie Locklear, 79, of 301 Maple Street died Wednesday, November 10, at his residence.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Laurinburg Pentecostal Holiness Church officiated by the Rev. Gary Wilson.
Burial will follow in the Hillside Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Hunt Locklear; three sons, James Earl Locklear of Maxton, Robert Earl Locklear of Laurinburg and Ricky Locklear and wife, Claudia of Charlotte; one stepson, J.C. Hunt and wife, Judy of Laurinburg; four daughters, Geraldine Covington, Shirley Martin and husband, Jerry, Carol Jean Melton and husband, Ray, Dianne Hudson and husband, Donnie, all of Laurinburg; two stepdaughters, Mary Lois Hunt and Doris Hunt of Fairmont; 17 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Standridge.
Born November 15, 1924 in Marlboro County, he was a son of the late Zebedee and Martha Barfield Johnson. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Locklear enjoyed going for rides on the country roads of Scotland County, fishing and buying and selling items. He was a retired electrician having worked with the City of Laurinburg and McCarter Electric. He was a member of Laurinburg Pentecostal Holiness Church.
