Anthony Terrill Ellerbee, 56, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024, at his home in Charlotte, North Carolina.

A funeral service will be 11:00 am Saturday, February 10, 2024, Unionville Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Alford Dudley. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park in Laurinburg. Repass will be held at Unionville Baptist Church

Born June 16, 1967, at Scotland Memorial Hospital in Scotland County, he was the son of the late Lillie Mae Ellerbee and Morgan Johnson Pirkle. At an early age he joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where he was a faithful member. From that time on, he was devoted to his love of Christ and actively engaged in the Church through his work with the Youth Choir and Men’s Choir at Unionville Baptist Church, as well as his attendance at Kingdom in the Valley Christian Church in Arizona. His love for music was shown during his time attending North Carolina A & T, where he was a band member. Singing was a devote passion, and he also found enjoyment for movies and his love for the Dallas Cowboys.

Anthony met Carolyn in 2004 and the two would later marry on October 15, 2011. Shortly thereafter he would move to Glendale, AZ, where he would begin a new journey in the desert Southwest. During his time there, he enjoyed cooking his favorite Southern dishes for his family and pursued and revived a Bachelor of Science, in Computer Technology and Networking from College America - Phoenix in June of 2014. The two relocated to Charlotte, NC in December of 2023.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Hamp, of Charlotte, North Carolina; and his children, Daryl Stidhum and Isaiah Fears; siblings Ronnie Roberson (Nancy) of Lumberton, Delores Ellerbee Bethea (Larry) of Laurinburg, Michael Ellerbee (Pamela) of Maxton, William Roberson (Gabrielle) of Charlotte, Veola Kittrel, of Washington DC and Larry McPhatter of Washington, DC; God-daughter, Faith Roberson; uncle, James Roberson; aunt, Annie Fairley; nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends and close friends, Dewayne Robinson, Lorenza Johnson, Cheryl Thompson, Charlotte Foster and James Bridges.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lillie Mae Ellerbee and Morgan Johnson Pirkle; his siblings, Carletta Roberson, Willie Frank Ellerbee Jr., and John Pirkle.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Friday, February 9, 2024 at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service and Crematorium.
