Annie Mary Matthews Luke

Annie Mary Matthews Luke, 98, passed away Monday, November 7, 2022 at Scotia Village.

A graveside service will be held at Springhill Cemetery in Wagram on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. and all are welcomed.  The family will receive friends at Scotia Village following the service.

Born November 8, 1923 in Scotland County, she was the daughter of the late Emery and Juanita Arnette Matthews.  Annie Mary was a member of the First Baptist Church in Laurinburg and Graham. Annie Mary volunteered for Meals on Wheels in Graham for many years.   She was an avid reader and she loved to watch her birds. She enjoyed crocheting cancer survivor hats.  Annie Mary passed away the day before her 99th birthday but her family celebrated with her on Saturday.

She is survived by her two daughters; Cathy Luke of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Virginia Johnson (Skee) of Graham, NC; one granddaughter, Erika Luke of Myrtle Beach, SC; sisters, Melissa Jones of Tampa, FL and Jane Campbell (Malcolm) of Louisville, KY. She is preceded in death by her husband Edward B. “Ed” Luke.
