Mrs. Ann Stewart Nicholson, 86, died Tuesday, May 12, 2009.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church officiated by the Rev. Ralph Brown. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.
She is survived by a son, Tommy Nicholson and wife, Beth of Laurinburg; a brother, Dan Stewart and wife, Willadean of Laurinburg; a daughter-in-law, Jenny Nicholson of Maclesfield; a step-grandson, Adam Crisp of Cullowhee; nephews, Randy Stewart and wife, Darlene of Laurinburg and their children, Erin and Phillip; Stewart Newton and wife, Maxine of Cheraw, SC; a niece, Cindy Young and husband, Jack of West Jefferson. She was preceded in death by her older son, Walter "Chip" Nicholson.
Ann was born September 19, 1922 in Laurinburg, a daughter of the late Daniel and Mary Wynn Stewart. She worked for 58 years with Morgan Mills, Spring Maid, and J. P. Stevens, retiring as the manager of the J. P. Stevens employees' store.
Ann was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, and was a volunteer for the Lumber River Council on Ageing, and a member of the Growing Friendships. In her pastime she was a avid bridge player.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
