Mrs. Amelia Outlaw Ammons, 72, of 11844 Johns Road died Saturday, March 25, at her residence.

A memorial service will be 12 noon Monday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium Chapel officiated by the Rev. L. M. Coble and L. J. Young. Burial will be in Scotland Cemetery.

She is survived by two sons, Ben F. Ammons and wife, Eleanor of Laurinburg, Ronnie Ammons and wife, Jadwiga of Virginia Beach; three daughters, Joyce Ammons of Monks Corner, SC, Carolyn Dees of Hamlet, and Wanda Villeponteaux and husband, Jack of Monks Corner, SC; a bother, the Rev. Wade Outlaw of Laurinburg; a sister, Lillian Turner of Wadesboro; 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Ammons.

Born September 14, 1933 in Scotland County, she was a daughter of the late Buster Brown and Maggie Graham Outlaw. She was a retired after 22 years with Waverly Mills and 21 years with Springs Mill. Amelia loved her family, enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Maxton Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Visitation will be 6-8 PM Sunday at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
