Alton Orlandis Covington

Alton Orlandis Covington, 62, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at his residence.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2022 at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service Chapel, officiated by Pastor Tyrone Rigsby. Burial will follow at Freeman Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, face masks are suggested and please practice social distancing.

Born February 28, 1960, in Montgomery County, he was a son of the late Ernest William and Judy Ingram Covington. Alton was one of a kind and never met a stranger. He was a hard worker, life of the party, former DJ for the Freebirds, and enjoyed cooking out. He loved going to church and had attended Troy Chapel AMC Zion Church. Alton had been employed with Capels for many years and was formerly employed with Montgomery Motors for twenty plus years of service.

He is survived by his brothers, James Edward Covington (Emily) of Troy and Tony Ray Covington of Charlotte; sisters, Debra Faye Gainey and Joyce Ann Covington, both of Troy; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Ernest William Covington, Jr., Charles Daniel Covington, and Rudy Michael Covington.
