Allen Thompson Locklear

Laurinburg

Mr. Allen Locklear was born January 19, 1952 to Theodore and Harriet Locklear.

He departed this life on October 1, 2021, at FirstHealth Hospice of Pinehurst.

Mr. Locklear served in the US Army under the 82nd Airborne division and was also a military policeman. While serving, he achieved the National Defense Service Medal and was awarded his Parachute Badge. After leaving the military, Mr. Locklear worked as an electrician for 35 years all over the US.  Once retired, he worked part-time at South of the Border as a security officer.

A funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Apostolic Lighthouse Tabernacle Church, officiated by Pastor Joe Barnhill.  Burial will follow at Fairpoint Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Fairmont.  Due to COVID-19 restrictions, please wear a mask and practice social distancing.

He attended church at Apostolic Lighthouse Tabernacle in Laurinburg.

He loved to fish, play with his dogs, and work in the yard.  He also loved to spend time with his grandkids and eating out with friends and family.

Mr. Locklear was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Locklear; a daughter, Kimmie Locklear; his father, Theodore Locklear; his mother Harriet Locklear; and a sister, Karen Locklear.

Mr. Locklear leaves to cherish his loving memories, a son, Timothy Locklear of Pembroke, four granddaughters, Donna Hunt and husband, Damien Hunt of Laurinburg, Kimberly Locklear of Lumberton, Kierra Locklear of Pembroke, Lilah Locklear of Pembroke; two grandsons, Christopher Locklear of Laurinburg and Timothi Locklear of Pembroke; a great granddaughter, Khloe Locklear; a great grandson, Corey Swett; three brothers, James Locklear and wife, Bernice Locklear of McDonald, Donald Ray Locklear and wife, Beverly Locklear of Fairmont, Theodore Locklear, Jr. and wife, Rosa Locklear of Lumberton; four sisters, Deanna Locklear of Fairmont, Linda Sue Oxendine and husband, Jerry Oxendine of Fairmont, Marylin Sampson and husband, David Sampson of Lumberton and Jessica Locklear of Lumberton; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service and Crematorium.
