Alice Ruth Smith, 85, passed away Monday, July 11, 2016 at Morrison Manor.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Old Laurel Hill Presbyterian Church officiated by the Rev. Deck Guess. Burial will follow in McNeil Cemetery.
She is survived by her sisters, Mary Gibson and Sue Buffaloe both of Marston, Ruby Murphy of Fayetteville and Doris Covington (Harold) of Hamlet; her brother, Everett Gibson (Blondell) of Marston; and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Harry Smith and her brother J.C. Gibson.
Born June 29, 1931 in Scotland County, she was a daughter of the late Cliff and Mary McPherson Gibson. She loved gardening using a variety of flowers and vegetables.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 14, 2016 from 1-2 pm at Old Laurel Hill Presbyterian Church, one hour prior to the service.
