Mrs. Aileen Smith Willis, 97, of Laurinburg, died Friday February 14, 2014 at Morrison Manor.
Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Monday at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium Chapel officiated by Rev. Patricia Butson. Burial will follow the service at Hillside Memorial Park.
Aileen was born September 28, 1916 in Robeson County to Stephen J. Smith and Martha Hodges Smith.
She is survived by four daughters, Laura Frances Bowman (Ivan) of Cary, Katherine Mayfield (Tom) of Hutchison Island, FL, Betty Jo Carsner (Dick) of Hickory, Carol Smith (Robert) of Columbia, SC; eight grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence J. "Red" Willis.
Aileen was a member of the First Baptist Church. She loved gardening, flowers, baking cakes, cookies and other goodies. She was an avid seamstress, making all kinds of clothes.
Memorials may be made to Morrison Manor, Hospice of Scotland County, PO Box 1033, Laurinburg, NC 28353.
Visitation will be 2-3 p.m. Monday at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium of Laurinburg.
