Aaron Daniel Smith

Words cannot express the sorrow and loss we are feeling for the loss of our Beloved Aaron Daniel Smith.

A funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 23, 2018 at the McDougald Funeral Home Bumgarner Chapel, officiated by Rev. Dr. Terry Hunt. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. Visitation will be 12:30 - 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Aaron Daniel Smith, 14, of Laurinburg, died December 19, 2018, in a tragic accident. He was born November 5, 2004 in Laurinburg, the son of Gary L Smith and Darlene M Smith. He attended Spring Hill Middle School, where he was a member of the Robotics Club and Golf Team.

Aaron was a member of the Order of the Arrow of the Boy Scouts of America and had been a member of troop 447. He was a life scout working toward his Eagle rank.

Aaron is survived by his parents Gary and Darlene of Laurinburg; his sisters Emily Smith, Anna Clark (Jared), Amanda (Polly) Smith, and Clara Smith. He is leaving his maternal grandparents Carol and Steve Sutkowski of Elon, N.C.; and paternal grandparents James and Dorothy Smith of Lexington S.C. He is also survived by numerous aunts and cousins, including Lisa, Katie and Daniel Cooper; and Trevor Smith.
